Hello Tobias,
This is Junfil, Account Supervisor from eBay.. I see that you're concerned about the computer part sold to a fraudulent buyer. I'll be happy to help.
Tobias, let me start off by clarifying that the payment notification you received was not coming from us eBay. Please note that when we send an email to our members, there's always a copy of it in your my eBay messages and I'm seeing none for the transaction we're concerned of. Please accept our sincere apology if my colleague Anthony overlooked the whole thing. Let me assure you that appropriate feedback and action will be served against him.
Now with regards to getting compensated, I'm sad to say that this is something we can't do since as I've said the payment notification was not coming from us. My colleague may have overlooked and wrongly confirmed that the notification was coming from us but based on the tracking number, your item was already shipped to the fraudulent buyer right before Anthony confirmed. So even if we correctly confirmed the payment notification right off the bat, still that's not going to turn things around since you've already shipped the item.
See facts below.
Item shipped date (base on tracking) : June 24, 2020
Anthony's confirmation about payment notification : June 30, 2020
Tobias, I know this has been explained by my colleagues already but let me reiterate that you really have to work with your shipping carrier to retrieve the item.
Moving forward whenever you receive an eBay notification especially about payment, you must check if there's a copy of it in your my eBay messages to confirm if it's really coming from us. If none, please ignore and delete it right away. Also, it's best to check your PayPal account as well linked to the listing if there's a payment received as a confirmation that you already get paid for the sale.
Tobias, since we've already explained clearly what happened, we may not be able to respond to follow up emails about this.
I trust that I've explained clearly what happened, the things you need to do to retrieve the item and how you can avoid this from happening again in your future sales. I wish you all the best in eBay in the future.
