Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. Unfortunately much of the information you are indicating is not correct. The cards do not need these pads in order to work with full stability and performance. We recognized that we could lower the temperatures with these pads and as a service are offering them for free to our customers. These pads however are entirely not necessary for the cards ran as intended. Being the manufacturer we are familiar with the hardware any issues that it can have and what it needed to resolve any issues. The Micron issue for example was resolved with a BIOS update and this was a stability issue that effected every manufacturer's 1070 cards, not just EVGA's. If you need this update we can provide it. The overheating issue was reported by a single publication and we could not replicate card failure in the same conditions. That said if you are having issues with your particular card we can always assist troubleshooting to resolve the issues, or if it is suffering from any type of hardware issue then we an offer an RMA to get it replaced as well.
Regards,
EVGA
