Well. I am also struggling for a long time. Make the orders and cancel the orders before shipping...
I have to re-consider my aims many times. I finally chose to go for AW3420DW yesterday and I should get it today.
My current monitor is U3415w with gtx1080. Surely, I will update my GPU after RTX3000 series release and I have a LG OLED55C9 connected directly with PC.
To make a big difference than my current monitor is to change to 38 inch or 49 inch. For 38 inch, there are four brothers LG 38GL950G, Acer Predator X38P, LG 38GN950, LG 38WN95C. It is known that GL950 has many issues and you have to bet on your luck. X38P may have a loader fan noise than GL950 with a not nice price. Also HDR400 is almost useless. Anyway, I have an OLED TV and why? Only good HDR for monitors is full-array zones and mini-LED. Then the prices go to 35K. Although GN950 and 38WN95C are almost same, in official documents, GN950 has more gaming features than 38WN95C like freesync premium and gsync with HDR. According to Nvidia, 38WN95C did not support HDR with gsync however from Reddit, it may support actually. Also, I think GN950 is over priced in Sweden... The price could be from 15k to 17k. btw, it is strange to see so few official support documents in this price range monitors. And there are no enough reviews yet. One important feature for G-sync module is Variable Overdrive and it has better support Hz range.
For 49 inch, Samsung G9 seems to have more issues according to first wave users' feedback back in China... You have to convince yourself that "I buy this monitor only for 1000R". btw, maybe only the next RTX3000 can drive this one above 120 fps in most games.
Finally... I re-consider my needs, my table, my budget. New tech requires someone to be the volunteer to try. I prefer better QA and service without annoying waiting and replacing. Perhaps some day, mini-LED can reach down to 15K finally with an acceptable frequency and HDR. For now, I am happy if RTX3000 can reach 120fps in 3440x1440 for most games. If it can get more, I have my TV's 4K 120fps for it to challenge.
