Cheap laptops in working state for Ukrainian refugees

I am helping Ukrainian refugees in Sweden. Kids need laptops / computers for online studies, adults for work and Swedish language courses.

If you have anything lying on a shelf and collecting dust, that can serve the purpose and does not cost much - let me know, I am willing to buy it out.

Thank you, but unfortunately, I don't think it's a good idea to lend anything to the refugees. Many of them have children and no permanent living place, that means a lot of movements and a high risk of damaging the device.

Thus it's a give and forget.

I have 2 Dell laptops laying around. One I got for free from someone here at Sweclockers so I could pass that one on for free as well. It’s quite old but could probably work for lighter office work/surfing.

The other one has a bit higher specs so I’ll want to get at least 500kr for that one. I can post specs tomorrow.

Unfortunately I have only one charger but it works with both laptops.

Can you in any way verify that you actually help Ukranian refugees? As much as people want to help, stories of scammers helping themselves to peoples goodwill is scaringly high.

Killen är ju själv ukrainare med familj i Ukraina och varit ganska frispråkig om kriget på sin youtubekanal. Känns som väldig låg chans att han skulle scamma folk för att komma åt något billigare laptops.

Sadly I can’t manage to get the better one to boot. A few times I got it into bios but then nothing. I’ve probably spent 1,5h trying to diagnose it without results. I’ll probably keeping trying during the weekend.

For the older computer I’m installing windows right now so it seems to work better. If I don’t manage to fix the better one you still can have the old one for free + some 4gb ram-sticks if you find some other computers with only 2gb ones.

I also live in Stockholm so shipping is probably not necessary

I think I have two laptops, but they have Linux installed (only 4gb RAM so Linux run smoother than Win).
Should be a license tied to the computer though but Windows 8.

Wife will be happy if I get rid of them.
