"Prior to today's launch of the Antec High Current Pro 1200W (HCP-1200), the Corsair AX1200 ruled the roost as the best 1200W unit on the market. After taking in to account the excellent build quality, the outstanding voltage regulation, outstanding efficiency, and outstanding DC Output Quality results we begin to see a pattern where the HCP-1200 edges out the AX1200 on just about every front. Even when it comes down the Transient Load Testing, which has tripped up many high quality units, we see the HCP-1200 coming up as clearly the best 1200W unit we have seen to date.
Clearly, with the Antec High Current Pro 1200W (HCP-1200) coming in at the same $299 as the recent Corsair AX1200 we have to tip our hat to the new king of the 1200 watt PSUs as Antec has really hit this one out of the park with the HCP-1200 surpassing the AX1200 in almost every way."

För att sedan lansera en modell med snarlikt namn, som är katastrofalt mycket sämre och slutade fungera två gånger i rad vid fullast: High Current Gamer 900W
"Perhaps the most disappointing thing here is this unit looks so very good from every aspect before we actually tested it, that when it fails it leaves feeling like, "Really?" The HCG-900 isn’t the first time we have been disappointed by a unit from a brand that normally is a solid recommendation, and it certainly won’t be the last, however the very nature of this unit's failure and the other assorted weak points of this unit make it something that seems strangely out of place in its current position in Antec’s lineup particularly on the heels of the excellent HCP-1200. Some days you win, and some days you lose. Today seems to just be one of those days that Antec lost with the HCG-900.
And to again point out, we had very similar experiences with not one, but two Antec-supplied units. Whenever we have a failure we request a second sample to verify our results, and in this case, both Antec units showed to have the same failure pattern.
The Antec HCG-900 has a lot of things to like going for it including what looked to be an excellent build quality, however at the end of the day the unit simply was not an excellent 900W unit as billed, but rather a decent 700W-ish unit. In addition to the failure to meet its full advertised output in our test environment, the HCG-900 was also a bit hamstrung by poor Transient Load Tests results and perhaps some poor quality control on the part of its connectors as the voltage regulation on the motherboard connector was significantly worse than on any other unless the unit was assisted during the testing. The Antec HCG-900 currently costs $145.00 it doesn’t even make much sense as a 750W power supply when the EA 750 outperforms it at $99.99."
