Excel question about retrieving larger data

Hi all.

I have a sheet with a large amount of data. The data contains values for an average day depending on two variables. Its 24 rows 12 columns per set. There is 144 sets beside each other. Total of 50 000 cells. I have 24 values for one of the variables, and 6 for the other. Ive put the sets right next to each other. Here is an example:

[set (variable1, variable2)]

excel sheet that i want to retrieve data from:
[set 1,1][set 1,2][set 1,3][set 1,4][set 1,5][set 1,6]...
[set 2,1][set 2,2][set 2,3][set 2,4][set 2,5][set 2,6]...
[set 3,1][set 3,2][set 3,3][set 3,4][set 3,5][set 3,6]...
[set 4,1]...

Every set has 288 values and the thing is that i want to retrieve a whole set in another sheet (same excel-file) depending on which variables you input. is there any way to do this in excel or is it maybe to complex?
